The Flipped Classroom

I have been searching on the Internet more information about the new model of teaching: “The Flipped Classroom”. This model is trying to break the classroom’s traditional structure, where the teacher spends a lot of time on the explication about the different subjects. Then, the students have to do exercises at home to consolidate their knowledge. The Flipped Classroom has become the vehicle to change in our teaching practice. If we get it, we will have more time in the school to work, make experiments, do activities, care for all the pupils with more efficiency… Previously, the students review the explication that their teachers have prepared for them, even though before class.

This video shows what the changes are through the school of the future:

Best teacher - Worst teacher

All of us have in our minds the image of the best teachers that we have known in our past. That image could be negative, too. The way that we remember them depends on their different attitudes, which make more or less positive their personal teaching and, moreover, the future of their students. However, other educators are never reminded by the majority of the pupils.

In my personal experience I am very grateful for have being learning with some of my school teachers. It is because thanks to some of them, nowadays, I want to be a teacher and I am studying teaching in the university. Especially, the best image that I have kept on my mind and my heart is from my Kinder Garden teacher. After nineteen years, she has been my practical teacher, too. I can say that she continues being as lovely as I was three years old. The most important personal qualities that make her the best teacher in the world for me are her patience and creativity. She is a worker person with a lot of imagination. Her sense of humour and proximity to the children motivate them to learn with very good results. To sum up: she loves her job.

Nevertheless, other opposite characteristics reminds me to some educators. Their way to teaching did not motivate me or turned an interesting subject into a boring subject. Maybe they did not try to innovate or do attractive all the activities. Some of these teachers were not patients and, sometimes, they were focussed in the final mark instead of the knowledge process.

Concluding, all my own experience as a student will help me in the future to be a good teacher and improve in my personal qualities, help my pupils to improve and enjoy together, keeping in their minds all their sensations lived with me.
